The students of Sri Gowthami Smart School, Gandhipuram campus celebrated New Year 2014 along with physically and mentally challenged children of “Maatrusri Foundation” in Gandhipuram here on Tuesday.
As a part of “Joy of giving”, the students of Sri Gowthami shared their joy with the physically challenged children of “Maatrusri School” by cutting New Year cake.
The students wished them good health and happiness by giving the greeting cards prepared by them. They also distributed sweets to the children of the school.
The Correspondent of Sri Gowthami group of schools Mr. Sunkara Ravi Kumar expressed that Sri Gowthami creates awareness on social responsibility among the children.
The students should be motivated to participate in social service activities, he added.
In this programme the students, teachers and non-teaching staff conveyed their wishes to the physically challenged children.

District Sainik Welfare Officer B. Ravi said ex-servicemen from Chirala were the first to chip in with their contribution of Rs. 25,000.
