Women farmers are playing a transformative role in dry land agriculture and are in the forefront in the fight against poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation.
This was acknowledged by Asia regional planning meeting held by ICRISAT at its headquarters from February 10 to 12.
“The efforts of ingenious and resourceful women farmers are helping us in our mission to achieve prosperous, food-security. It is upon us to provide them with scientific innovations and solutions to help increase the productivity of their crops and their incomes, ” ICRISAT Director General Dr. William D. Dar said.
