RTC to soon have ‘dine on board’ service

This New Year, commuters travelling in RTC Garuda, Garuda plus and other AC buses would have the pleasure of enjoying delicious biryani, roti curry, curd rice and even yummy sweets from popular joints and pizzas as authorities are planning to launch “Dine on Board” service very shortly. Passengers opting for this service can order their choice of food while booking tickets at Authorised Ticket Booking counters or online and pay accordingly. The food would be served hot in buses at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) minutes before the journey begins.

The objective was to make it convenient for passengers. Most passengers complain about drivers stopping buses at dhabas and roadside hotels during long distance journeys. Besides, affecting passengers’ health, it also consumes lot of time and eventually journey time extends, said RTC Greater Hyderabad zone Executive Director Executive Director A. Koteswara Rao.

RTC will be entering into an agreement with a private agency for launching the service. The agency will be preparing biryani, roti curry, curd rice etc at its premises, while sweets and pizzas would be purchased from the respective outlets selected by passengers.
