My Sunny Balcony @ 2009.

Founded by Reena, Sriram, Shailesh and Athreya in 2009, My Sunny Balcony specialises in creating balcony gardens using recycled material. “The idea was conceived over a cup of coffee in a café,” says Sriram. “We are a group of friends who had the passion to do something green for the city. So we started by designing rooftop gardens. Initially it started as a weekend project where we would visit homes and create a green space for them. But seeking permission for a rooftop in apartments became a hassle as it is a shared space. That is when we zeroed in on the balcony space.”

“We progressed to creating our own organic fertilizers and pesticides. We also have recycled and up cycled products from boxed wood, discarded mineral water bottles and glass bottles. We also work in close proximity with the traditional terracotta pottery people, which is a dying art. We give them contemporary designs that they create and this way they also earn their livelihood.

Tick tock clock

There is a clock in front of me

Trying to say something to me

I thought it useless and gave a shout

And I went out

When I came back, I saw it roar

Angrily I threw it on the floor

It left me alone

Until I was totally blown

I bought a new clock

From a shop which had new stock

And still I see

There is a clock in front of me

Trying to say something to me.–
