Commercial establishments want to cash in on the frenzy

Cricket fans will be enjoying the World Cup cricket tournament that entered quarter finals stage on Wednesday, and to cash in on the ever-increasing frenzy, several commercial establishments have come up with discount offers to woo the fans.

Offers saying, “Watch cricket matches on new TV. Buy a TV and avail discount of Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 6,000,” can been seen at a showroom in Vijayawada.

A star hotel has displayed a huge board at the entrance offering discount on food and beverage if India wins quarter, semi and final matches.

Exciting offers

A company dealing with water purifiers announced exciting offers on the eve of World Cup.

Consumers can avail a discount of Rs. 4,000 and Rs. 6,000 if they buy LED TV television sets (40 and 48 inches) worth Rs. 46,000 and Rs. 65,000 respectively.

As of now, the response has been good for the offer. Customers’ patronage has been improving for the last few days after discount offers were announced in connection with the ongoing tournament, Regional Sales Officer Sharif said.

The showroom is also giving three-year warranty on the LED TVs.

A hotel on M.G. Road has announced 10, 15 and 25 per cent discount on the total bill for the guests for having food and beverages at night.

The facility can be avail only if the India wins quarter (10 per cent discount), semi (15 per cent discount) and final (25 per cent) matches, said E. Nagesh, deputy manager of a hotel.

Food festival

A star hotel is organising ‘biryani and kebabs’ food festival from Friday to attract customers.

“We are offering four varieties of kebabs and15 types of desserts followed by delicious biryani and salads during food festival organised on the eve of World Cup matches,” added The Gateway Hotel Sales Manager Md. Shabul Hussain.
