‘Spread Vedic message’
National Vedic Conference begins at Tirupati
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has called upon the fraternity of Vedic scholars to look beyond chanting the scriptures and take the message, with the essence in tact, to masses.
Speaking at the inauguration of the National Vedic Conference organised by the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) here on Tuesday, Mr. Narasimhan called upon the Vedic scholars, faculty and students to focus on research into the vast repository of Vedic knowledge in order to prove the points and facts mentioned in the texts.
“More than mere chanting of the Vedic hymns, I believe in dissemination of information, the knowledge embedded in our ancient scriptures. The sound of the Vedas must pervade everywhere, must fill all space. The truths enshrined in them must be spread far and wide,” he pointed out.
Mr. Narasimhan also indicated that the country needed no certification from outsiders on the content or relevance of the Vedic scriptures.
