Tirupati college inks pact with Japanese co.

At a time when the State government is engaging positively with Japan eyeing employment and investment opportunities, here’s a college that has gone ‘the extra mile’ to reach out to the nation.

Shree Institute of Technical Education (SITE) chairman T. Damodaram exchanged copies of the MoU entered into with Internet Business Japan (IBJ) India head Jayanth Kumar, approving the company as its knowledge partner in Internet Technologies.

At a seminar on ‘Web of opportunities’ held on Monday, the speakers elucidated on the emerging trends in Internet Technologies and the job opportunities in the arena. Interacting with 500 students, IBJ chief global designer Kent Shikano and chief architect Yujiro Arakawa explained the skills required to improve chances in the job market. The academic qualifications and technical skills apart, knowledge of Japanese language and culture would certainly be an added advantage to students planning to make it big in that country, they said.

SITE vice-chairman Venugopal Tenkayala, a permanent resident of Japan, shared his vision for the college on how students would benefit from learning Japanese . He also mooted the idea of launching the Japan Cultural Academy in Tirupati.
