Over 500 NCC cadets are striving hard in Srikakulam camp to get ‘C’ certificate which would help them in educational and employment opportunities all over India. The cadets from various mandals attended for the weapon training, map reading, drill, obstacle tests and battle and field craft.
Presiding officer of the camp Lieutenant Colonel M. Ravikumar, Major K. Sivakumar said that the camp would continue for a week and written test will be conducted on February 23rd. According to them, the cadets earlier used to go to Visakhapatnam for the ‘C’ certificate training programme but the officials decided to conduct it in Srikakulam itself to enable students from rural areas to have hassle free test in the district headquarters.
Mr. Ravikumar expressed happiness over the infrastructure available within Srikakulam for the training camp. He said that NCC training was a boon for rural students who can compete with urban students in all competitions as ‘C’ certificate would be an added advantage for them.
