Reflecting the global popularity of Lord Balaji, the presiding deity in the hill shrine at Tirupati, the Government of Palau, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, will issue collector’s edition of coins dedicated to the deity.
The island nation is an American sub-continent independent country. This is the first time that coins on the Lord Balaji will be issued by a foreign country. The coins will be minted by German Mint and the design of the coin and boxes are being done by a Kolkata-based software consultant Alok K. Goyal. The coins designed in two specifications: 3 Oz pure silver and 65 mm diameter and 1Oz pure sliver 38.61 mm diameter will be cased into specially designed boxes. The silver coins will come studded with Swarovski crystals and a small diamond.
The booking of the coins have started from January 22 and the worldwide rights are with Mr. Goyal of AG Impex, Kolkata. The coins will be released on April 16.
