Ruhaniyat’s Sufi and Mystic Music Festival on February 16
Banyan Tree Events presents the 13th edition of Ruhaniyat, all India Sufi and Mystic Music Festival on February 16 (6.30 p.m.) at Madras Race Club. Every year this festival showcases artists and rare art forms from across the country and outside too. Conceived by Mahesh Babu, the theme of the festival is love and peace.
The highlight of this edition is the first ever Indo-Bulgarian production called Mystic Pathways. In Bulgaria, several musicians believe that their forefathers were gypsies of Rajasthan. The production combines songs of Kalbeliya women, a nomadic tribe of Rajasthan and the Polyphony singers of the Vaya Group from Bulgaria.
The festival also features Shabad by Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa (Punjab), Baul songs by Parvathy Baul (West Bengal), Tannoura – Dancing Dervishes (Egypt), sufi qawwali by Chisti Brothers & Group (Muradabad).
Donor passes priced at Rs. 500 are available at all outlets of Landmark or log on to http://www.bookmyshow.com or call 39895050.
