Online passport melas will be held at Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) at Murali Nagar here and at Vijayawada from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 15. Only fresh normal/re-issue normal applications will be accepted.
A total of 600 online appointments would be released for PSK, Vizag, and 400 appointments for PSK, Vijayawada on February 13 at 5:30 p.m. for the melas to be held on February 15, according to Passport Officer A.T. Murthy. Applicants under the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office, Visakhapatnam, i.e., East and West Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram can book online appointments on the portalwww.passportindia.gov.in
The applicants have to visit the respective PSKs in person for the processing of application, biometric capture and photographs. The applicants should carry at least two colour photographs with light background. The applicants have to log on to the above mentioned website, fill and submit the application form online, make payment of passport fees (as given on the website) through online debit/credit card or Internet banking of State Bank of India. The SBI challan payment option, provided on the website, can also be used.
The appointments will be allotted by the system as per availability on February 15. The applicants have to visit the PSK for submission of application along with a printout of the appointment slip, original documents and photo copies and SBI payment receipt, where applicable, on the appointed day and time.
Only passport applicants who get online appointments on the scheduled date (i.e., on February 15) will be allowed to submit their applications.
Applicants under ‘Walk-in’ category, PCC and Tatkal cases, pending cases and applicants without appointment will not be allowed on February 15.
