The Seer offered special prayers at Arasavalli temple here after being accorded a traditional welcome by authorities.
District Revenue Officer Nur Bhasha Khasmi, who also offered prayers on the auspicious occasion, said, “God is one though He is worshipped in various forms by people.”
The temple premises wore a festive look with the commencement of ‘ksheerabhishekam’ at 12 midnight. The ritual continued till 6 a.m. Devotees had a hassle-free darshan as the crowd strength was less this year.
Usually, many devotees prefer to take part in ‘ksheerabhishekam’ performed early in the morning.
But this year, the devotee rush was low for the ritual, partly because the exclusive queue line for it was at a long distance. However, devotees appreciated the security arrangements made by the police. The devotees were also happy with the arrangements at the ‘prasadam’ counters.
