India of my dreams

In the India of my dreams, there will be peace and harmony. Every citizen will be literate. India will reach great heights. It will be free of violence, terrorism, hunger and suffering. It will be filled with compassion, peace and happiness.

Every Indian will be happy. Every type of work will be respected. Highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene will be maintained in the India of my dreams.

This is my India — a great country, a land of peace, prosperity and truthfulness where no one is afraid of speaking the truth and where there is no corruption . It will be a country where women are respected and people from all religions co-exists and where every citizen is proud to be an Indian.

Dear Mom…

Mom, I love you! It’s not just me; every child loves his/her mom and of course, every mom loves her child. Parents are believed to be the gods we can see. There is even a saying that goes — ‘Matha, pitha, guru, divam…’ — which places her ahead of father, teacher and god.

Though some of us make her sad at times with our words, we should understand that she is our well-wisher. Every mother in the world wishes her child to be successful in life. She tries her best to mould us by teaching values and manners. She sacrifices many things for us for our happiness. She helps during our difficult times. I believe a mother is a god-sent angel. Respect her and obey her. Make her proud of you.

Feels like heaven

It was a chilly night. At the end of a long journey which began from Chemmad, we arrived at Ooty, a place where all natural and beautiful resources come together. We fwere freezing and felt as if we were becoming icicles.

At dawn the next day, I saw Ooty’s beauty, carpeted by plantations and the carrot fields. It is blessed with fantabulous gardens, decorated with colourful flowers. Ooty with its ease, peace and gentle breeze, extends a warm welcome to everybody.

Many tourists from different parts of India and abroad visit the main street which is lined with vendors. It makes for an exciting sight!

Ooty, to me, feels as if a part of heaven.
